New Baking in Substance 3D painter 8.3

YT 2023-01-13 10:48 article  > All

This video covers Painter 8.3's new baking features.

Substance Painter 8.3 has received a new tool for baking textures. The interface for baking has been completely rebuilt and it can be accessed as a new mode in application, called "Baking". It is a third mode that we have in Substance Painter, in addition to the texture painting and rendering modes. Benefits? We can see an interactive preview of the model - both low poly and high poly, and set baking cage with visual feedback, without guessing. We also have insight into mesh and normals errors that can cause texture baking issues.

Baking parameters can now be set independently for different texture sets, allowing for quick troubleshooting.

We are one of the best stores with 3D models - do you want to check what high-quality 3D models we offer?

Baking is now a new and separate mode in addition to the already existing painting and rendering modes of the application. To get to the baking mode, simply use the little croissant icon in the contextual toolbar. Switching between modes can also be done otherwise: by using the mode menu or the keyboard shortcuts.
