iCube R&D Group brings together leading Russian 3d visualisation companies to develop tools for 3D visualisation industry. Recent developments include VRayScatter for Maya, MultiScatter, MadCar, CityTraffic, VRayPattern and SplineLand.

MultiScatter
MultiScatter is a plug-in for 3ds max which works with V-Ray and Mental Ray rendering systems (VRayRT, Octane and Corona renderers are also supported).

It is possible to create complicated scenes with a huge amount of scattered objects easy and quickly. Hundreds of millions of objects, hundreds of billions of polygons - in the same scene. The most exciting feature of MultiScatter is a quick generation of an array of objects right before rendering. Millions of objects are created in only 2 seconds before rendering. MultiScatter includes many convenient tools for building both regular arrays of objects, and with varying degrees of randomness and variability in size, rotation, and scale of objects. It gives the ability to animate huge arrays of objects which is only limited by your imagination.

The plugin is mainly used for creating architectural visualization but also found its way to workstations and renderfarms of top CG and film production companies.

CityTraffic 2
CityTraffic 2 - is the most advanced plug-in for 3ds Max for simulating vehicle traffic. Special road editor and automatic cars setup substantially improves the workflow for preparation of traffic simulation. Huge variety of configurations for each car, whether it is adjustment of a suspension bracket or style of driving, allows to create realistic simulation. Dynamics calculation makes driving on complicated surfaces more realistic, and the AI system helps cars to operate independently.
New features in version 2:
MadCar 3
MadCar 3 is a plug-in for 3DS Max for quick rigging of wheeled vehicles and their animations by simulating the control. This new version allows rigging vehicles with any number of wheels, and with any of their mutual arrangements including motorcycles. Any number of trailers is also supported.

There are simplified behaviour setting for each of the wheels and suspension as well as fine tuning, this allows to simulate motion with qualities of a race car as well as heavy trucks. Animation is created during the simulation in real time.Simulation can be controlled by the keyboard, joysticks, game controllers, or steering wheel. Following the object" mode is also supported. There is also a procedural map that generates traces of tires on the surface on which vehicle is moving (V-Ray only).

SplineLand
SplineLand is a plugin for 3ds Max that allows to generate topographically accurate terrains from a set of splines and lay roads. Without SplineLand it is almost impossible to achieve such accurate results in 3ds Max. Now, in just a few clicks your spline based topographical data can become a terrain.

Splines can be topographic contours in one plane each, or can be just any shape. iTrees, iFlowers, iGrass,iBushes, iAlpine and iCars are photo realistic 3D model libraries, which are optimised to work with our plugins, and on their own. Our developments also include VRayScatter and VRayPattern for Maya, which becomes great addition for growing popularity of V-Ray amongst Maya users.
