In first step we should create a sphere, and change it into Editable Poly.

Now when object is poly we can mark random polygons (but in pair 4 polygons) like in picture.

Extrude selected polygons, if you extrude it more then you will have longer tentacle.
|

|
Use Uniform Scale on selected polygons like in picture.
|

|
Extrude polygons one more time and use Uniform like in picture.
|

|
Do it again.
|

|
Extrude two times and use Uniform Scale.
|

Hit F9 and it should look like my render.
|

|
Create Target Camera.
|

|
Go to material Editor and create VRayMtlWrapper.
|

|
|

|
Click on base material, select VrayMtl and use this settings.
|

|
Click on diffuse and select Falloff, Click on Bump and select noise map(bump should have 60).
|

|
Set Falloff parameters like in picture.
|

|
|

|
Set Noise parameters like me.
|

|
Go back to VRayMtlWrapper settings nad use my settings.
|

|
Create big Tube and extrude it inside like in picture.
|

|
Duplicate your microb.
|

|
Open Rendering menu and use this settings.
|

|
|

|
Hit F9.
