Hi there people, here is a quick introduction on how i setup a interior, there is almost no modelling involved
only using a couple of max'es build in tools.
they can save you allot of time if you use them correct, also give a nice detail.
and even with basic materials supplied (EAC templates) for the doors and windows. if you have any questions feel free to mail me.
well hope you find this usefull here we go :

|
Goto the create panel, and select AEC extended for you objects.
there you click on Wall.
well maximize your top viewport, and set your snap setting on, and used Grid points for snapping.
zoom out a little in your top viewport and start creating a wall, i created something like this images on the left.
end your wall where you begon, and choose weld point if asked.
rightclick once, as you can see the wall tool is still on, now you set a few settings:
width:10
height: 240
now rightclick again and cancel the tool.
|

|
Now we gonna create a door, goto you top viewport, and maximize it (ctrl-w), goto the create panel and look for "Doors", click on "Pivot" to create a normal door.
goto the modify panel and set setting like so :
Height : 200
Width : 80
Depth : 12
FrameWidth : 5
no panels
|

|
Goto the top viewport and more your door in the Y direction and center it into the wall.
now click on "Select and Link" (just next to the redo button).
click on the Door, and drag to the wall and release.
If u modify the door and set it a bit open you can see we got a nice door in our wall.
|

|
Now, goto the top view, maximize and look for the create panel for Windows, create a Fixed window like on the screenshot : |

|
Adjust some settings of the window :
|

|
Now position the window in the middel of the wall, if you position the window in the middle of the wall, decrease the depth to the right value (i used 11.073)
use Select and Link to link the window to the wall.
in the perspective windows, position it like so :
|

|
and press Ctrl-C to create a camera on tha position.
postition the camera use a 28MM, and add clipping planes
configure the camera window and on the safe frame tab, click Show safe frame in window on.
goto your render window and set your image aspect ration i used 2.199.
|

|
now for our floor and ceiling, goto the top viewport, maximize
start a new line shape, and choose snap setting on vertex, draw a line equal to the wall (outside)
make sure all vertex's are set to Corner.
put an extrude modifier on it, i used an extrusion of 2.0.
goto you prespective / camera view, and as you can see you have an ceiling.
in your front viewport shift-move your ceiling down and create a copy, this will be our floor.
set the Z position to 0.0
Now you should have the same as the screenshot on the left.
|
|
now all you have to do is rename your object to a normal name :)
thats all
hope you liked it :)
