This was an experiment to simulate the effect of blown glass on a small statue with a Vray material. The effect was achieved with a custom diffuse map plugged into the refraction channel in the material settings. The scene was lit with an HDRI along with a vray light aligned to the light source of the HDR to bring out highlights. My goal was to achieve a realistic look, as well as a dynamic look at the same time.
